This page explains, in plain language, how Instagram Story Viewer handles data.
What we collect
You can use Instagram Story Viewer without an account. We do not ask for your name, your Instagram login, or your password. When you enter a public username, it is processed on demand to fetch publicly available content and is not tied to a personal profile of you.
What we don’t do
We never request Instagram credentials, we don’t access private accounts, and we don’t build a browsing history linked to you. Previews are generated on demand and are not kept after you leave the page.
Technical logs
Our servers may keep basic technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security, abuse prevention and reliability. We don’t use those logs to build an advertising profile of you.
Cookies and storage
Settings you choose, such as your theme, language and recent lookups, are kept in your browser’s local storage and never leave your device. Separately, the third-party advertising and measurement services described below set their own cookies and similar identifiers. Advertising cookies in particular can be read across other sites in the same ad network, which is how personalised ads work. See “Your privacy choices” for how to limit or turn these off.
Advertising
Instagram Story Viewer is free and paid for by advertising. We use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to select, deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other sites. You can review or switch off personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics and session measurement
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get used, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how pages are actually used — clicks, scrolling and pointer movement, which Clarity can replay as a session recording. Anything you type into this site is masked by Clarity before it is sent. We use this only to find usability problems, never to identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and read Microsoft’s terms and opt-out at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.
Your privacy choices
Your browser can block or delete cookies for this site at any time, and the opt-out links above work independently of us. Because advertising and measurement cookies are set by Google and Microsoft rather than by us, the controls those companies provide are the ones that apply.
Public data and GDPR
This tool surfaces content that is already public on Instagram. Public web pages can still contain personal data protected under laws such as the GDPR. If you believe content shown here should be removed, contact us and we will review takedown requests.
